When Maria Zani is brutally murdered, her ex-husband and insurance broker Paolo Zani becomes the prime suspect of Inspector Tellini. Then another woman is murdered using the same disturbing method.

The victims are first paralysed with poisoned acupuncture needles before being killed, echoing the way tarantula hawks attack their prey. As suspects themselves begin to die, Tellini discovers a connection between the victims that leads his investigation towards a spa.

Directed by Paolo Cavara, the 1971 The Black Belly of the Tarantula (La tarantola dal ventre nero) is a classic of Italian giallo cinema, starring Giancarlo Giannini, Claudine Auger, Barbara Bouchet, Rossella Falk, Silvano Tranquilli and Annabella Incontrera.

This US-import two-disc edition features two cuts of the film and includes both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. The 4K presentation features 2160p resolution, HDR10 and the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
