Thirteen-year-old Christiane grows up in 1970s West Berlin in a broken and lonely home environment. Drawn into the city’s nightclub scene with her friends, experimentation quickly turns into addiction. Her descent into heroin use leads to prostitution, violence, and a desperate struggle for survival.

Based on the autobiographical book by Christiane Felscherin, Kai Hermann, and Horst Rieck, the film is a raw and uncompromising portrait of youth, addiction, and the dark underbelly of 1970s Berlin. The film is also notable for its soundtrack and appearance by David Bowie.
