Daniel Hillard is a loving but irresponsible father who, after separating from his wife, is restricted from seeing his children as often as he would like.

Desperate to remain part of their everyday lives, Daniel creates an extraordinary disguise and transforms himself into Mrs. Doubtfire, an elderly Scottish housekeeper who applies for a job in his ex-wife’s home.

The disguise brings him closer to his children, but keeping his double life secret becomes increasingly difficult. Beneath the comedy, the film also explores family, parenthood, responsibility and personal change.
