The peaceful lives of the animals in the forest are shattered when a pack of wolves suddenly attacks. Father Deer comes to the rescue and asks Birdy to summon his son.
When the young Deer rushes to his father's side, he finds him dying. With his final words, Father Deer asks his son to avenge him and continue the fight against the wolves.
The Fantasy of Deer Warrior is an unusual 1961 fantasy film combining animal characters, fairy-tale adventure and a revenge story. It is a distinctive piece of Taiwanese cinema history and an especially interesting release for collectors of Asian cult cinema, fantasy and cinematic oddities.
