Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of the final week of Jesus Christ's life through a bold, modern rock-opera interpretation. Much of the story is seen from the perspective of Judas Iscariot, whose growing doubts about Jesus and his influence set in motion the events that will change history.

Directed by Norman Jewison, the film combines biblical imagery with a distinctly 1970s rock aesthetic, striking locations and the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice.

The acclaimed score includes I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Hosanna, Herod’s Song and the iconic title song Superstar.

The film stars Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, Yvonne Elliman, Barry Dennen, Josh Mostel and Bob Bingham.
