Larry Donner is a struggling writer whose life falls apart when his ex-wife steals his manuscript and becomes famous by publishing it under her own name. One of Larry’s students, Owen Lift, proposes a strange arrangement: he will kill Larry’s ex-wife if Larry agrees to kill Owen’s unbearable mother.
